Turn off the overhead lights, shine a lamp on the wall, and enjoy spending some time making some fun shapes on the wall. Have your toddler guess the shapes and animals you are making! Here are some guides:

Does your little one have a hard time getting their little hands to hold a crayon? Not sure what to do with your toddlers old broken crayon bits? Why not make your own crayon shapes, it’s so easy!

What you need:

- Your old broken crayons (yes, I used new ones, because I couldn’t find our old ones!)
-A knife
-A cutting board
-A mini cupcake pan or any shaped pans or molds that can go in the oven.

What to do:

-Chop your crayons into small pieces, and place them into the cupcake tray. Mixing your colours makes the crayons much more fun than single colours. They will melt into each other and create fun swirls. It will always be a surprise!

-Put the tray into the oven. I put mine in at 350 degrees, for about 10 minutes. Keep an eye on them, once melted they are ready to come out.

-Let cool, and remove from pan. If you have trouble, put the tray into the freezer for 15 minutes, and try again.

That’s it! So easy! Have fun

What kid doesn’t love Playdough? Here is a very simple recipe to make the best homemade playdough!

What you need:

1 cup flour

1 cup water

1/4 cup salt

2tsp cream of tartar

1tbls vegetable oil

Food colouring

Dump your ingredients into a pot and give them a good stir. This is a great time to get your child to help.

Place your pot on the stove at medium heat, and stir constantly until it forms into a ball.

Remove from heat, and your pot and let cool on some wax or parchment paper. Once cool, knead it until soft. This dough is great for using with all of your regular Play-Doh cut-outs and accessories.

Have fun!

Here is a great craft you can do with your toddlers for Christmas!

What you need:

-Popsicle sticks
-Green Paint
-Glue Gun
-Sparkles, Buttons, or other decorations (optional)
-White glue to glue on the above

Start off by hot glueing three popsicle sticks into a triangle. Continue to glue more sticks onto the top, but alternatively to each side on the bottom to form the shape of a 3D tree.

Pour out some paint in a tray, or on a drop sheet, hand your kids a couple paintbrushes, or sponges, and let them have fun!

After the paint dries, you can help them by adding sparkles, buttons, or any other cute little craft elements you have laying around the house.

Each week we will be bringing you a new activity to do at home. Whether it be a craft, recipe idea for your toddler, or fun game or song, we want to help share some great idea’s to do with your kids!

This week we are going to share how to do Hand-Print Snowman Christmas Balls!

What you need
-Christmas balls big enough for your child to get their hand around
-Paint – white, black, orange, and whatever scarf colour you want
-Paint Brushes and Sponges

What to do:

Paint your child’s hand all in white. (tip: Have wipes ready!!)

If they are old enough, have them just grab the ball from the bottom, and hold it in their hand. With Q, I placed his hand in. Because he is still small, it was hard to keep his fingers apart, without making a huge mess. Still works though!

Place upside down in egg carton, or cups, and let dry fully.

Once dry, it’s your turn to get creative! Unless your children are old enough, put the paintbrush in your hand, and paint on hats, eyes, buttons and a nose onto each of the fingers to create your snowmen.

Let dry, then apply a coat of mod podge, or another sealant to protect the paint from chipping off. Show your children their adorable work of art, and hang it on your tree!

How cute are these? If you do this project, we would love to see you post it on our Facebook wall!

Have fun!!
